Why Apply?
At THSC, we know there is not a single educational path for everyone. Some students will join the workforce straight out of high school, while some will attend a technical school or start their own business. However, for those that are called to pursue higher education, THSC and the Richard Wallrath Educational Foundation (RWEF) want to help.
The Richard Wallrath Educational Foundation (RWEF) is partnering with THSC to extend scholarship opportunities to the homeschool community. What does a RWEF Scholarship offered through THSC look like? THSC will select up to ten (10) $10,000 scholarships to award to homeschool students who are beginning their college journey in the Fall 2025 semester. RWEF scholarship funds are sent to a recipient’s school of choice in $1,250 increments over eight semesters, provided the recipient continues to meet the scholarships requirements.
Academic and Institution Requirements:
- RWEF scholarships money can be applied at any Texas University, with limited application at junior and community colleges.
- A recipient of a RWEF scholarship must:
- Be in pursit of a 4-year degree;
- Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher each semester;
- Be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours per semester);
- Have been homeschooled for at least 4 years of their K-12 education

RWEF’s Heart
Since 2006, the Richard Wallrath Educational Foundation has awarded 1,400 scholarships, totaling $14 million dollars to deserving students through partnerships with other organizations.
“Dick Wallrath doesn’t believe in giving something for nothing. What he does believe in is giving opportunities. That’s why the foundation gives college scholarships to deserving young people. It’s money they can put with a lot of hard work to make something out of themselves. It’s teaching a man to fish, so to speak.
‘When you give a child an education,’ Dick says, ‘you give them something no one can steal. You can make their dreams come true. They can go and do something with their life.’”
At THSC, we could not agree more. That’s why we are so passionate about providing homeschooling support, fighting for parental rights, and making homeschooling possible for as many Texas families as possible.
