Jennifer Flanders

Loving Life at Home - Booth #701 Jennifer Flanders is passionate about faith and family and loves sharing resources that help others build strong, happy and healthy homes. She is blessed to have a husband, Dr. Doug Flanders, who shares those passions. Their willingness to speak openly and honestly about their Christian beliefs and family values has led to television interviews with the BBC and America Tonight. Jennifer is a prolific writer with more than 20 books to her credit (including “25 Ways to Communicate Respect to Your Husband,” which was voted Columbia Scholastic Press Association’s Book of the Year). She also writes a weekly newspaper column entitled “Family Matters” and runs two blogs for mothers: Loving Life at Home, where she writes about marriage and motherhood, and Flanders Family Homelife, where she posts tips on homeschooling, organization, family travel and saving money (plus lots of free printables). Jennifer holds a bachelor’s in mathematics from Dallas Baptist University, where she met her husband in 1986. She completed two years of graduate work at Southern Methodist University in the same field before they began their family. As a mother of 12, Jennifer’s specialty is (obviously) multiplication, but her educational background also comes in handy when teaching her kids everything from counting to calculus. In addition to the four children she is still teaching at home, this 30-year homeschool veteran has four children in college, one doctor, two dentists and an ICU nurse—a testimony not only to the effectiveness of homeschooling, but also to God’s overwhelmingly abundant grace and the delight He takes in using imperfect people to accomplish His amazing plan.
