Eta Sigma Alpha
Eta Sigma Alpha is the first honor society established exclusively for home schooled students in Grades 9 through 12 and has grown into a national organization.
- Grade 9 through Grade 12 home educated student are eligible.
- Test scores should not be more than one year old.
- Tests must be administered in a group setting. A non-family member may administer the test as long as the parent does not have access to the test. Parent-administered tests are not acceptable.
- Each ESA chapter may have additional requirements.
One-time score on one of the following tests:
- A test score of 1800 or greater on the SAT
- A test score of 26 or greater on the ACT
- A test score of 180 or greater on the PSAT
- A test score of 90% on the composite/complete battery on CAT, Terra Nova, Iowa or Stanford nationally normed standardized achievement tests.

Mu Eta Sigma
Mu Eta Sigma is a national math honor society founded to encourage mathematical excellence and scholarship specifically within the home school community.
- Grade 9 through Grade 12 home educated student
One-time score on one of the following tests:
- A test score of 580 or greater on the SAT Math portion
- A test score of 24 or greater on the ACT Math portion
- A test score of 58 or greater on the PSAT Math portion
- A test score of 90% or greater on the Math battery of the Iowa or Stanford nationally normed standardized achievement tests.
- Recognition for mathematical academic achievement
- Enhanced college application credentials
- Community service opportunities
- Certificate of Mu Eta Sigma membership
