]]> Tim Lambert wrote a letter for a member family whose special needs child was being considered for Social Security benefits. Regardless of information given to the Social Security Administration by the parents regarding their child’s education, the SSA continued to categorize the child as a non-student. Tim restated the Social Security Administration’s own policy and confirmed that this child was, in fact, a full-time home school student under Texas law.

]]> THSC responded on behalf of a member family in regard to a phone call they recently received from the Social Security Administration. When asked whether the student, who would soon be 18, was still in school, the member parent assured the caseworker that her daughter was being educated at home in compliance with the laws of Texas. When questioned further, the parent agreed to have our office draft a letter on her behalf, which we happily did.
